Hi There Blogging Friends! I never thought that I would be in a position to share Vintage photo's with you, but as they say "you should never say never".....because......opportunities can arise for you.

An opportunity did arise for me to purchase some of these fabulous 'Cabinet Cards' from a USA Etsy seller awhile back and; I also gathered up a couple more on my recent trip around Australia. So; crafty friends if you would like to copy them to your computer; just left click to enlarge the photo then; right click to save to your computer files. Oh So Happy Mail!

Are you finding any treats in your mailbox lately?? Oh my goodness I am and it is so much fun!

I received this lovely tag to-day in Australia; where it is hot and humid and; it was a joy to see all this shimmering of ice and snow in the coolness of a blue background.

This lovely tag was sent to me by Mercedes of 'All Things Pretty' for our January swap with The Altered Paper.

Then; I received a huge parcel from my Tag Art friends at Roses On My Table which is co-ordinated by the lovely 'Chel'. Included in my parcel were three tags from my swapping friends for our November subject; 'Statues'.

Love this bronze bucking bronco....yea hah!

This bronze statue of the chinese man is beautifully surrounded by gold and green...very classy!I adore this tag of the Statue of Liberty and the saying "Freedom Lies In Being Bold". Isn't that the truth friends.....and who helps the world more to remain free than that wonderful country USA!

The next tag was our December Christmas Tag Swap. I am so in love with these little birdies on the branch, can never get enough birdies in my life!

Below is a pic of how my tags arrived in the mail to-day. It is such a thrill to get envelopes that make you want to rip them open and read every inch of what is inside.......I must say the bill envelopes never give you that feeling!

But wait there's more.......inside my parcel from Chel was this delightful treat of home baked fudge...how wonderful is that...all the way from USA and as fresh as if it was baked to-day.

Then; as if some home baked treats were not enough; the lovely Chel also put in some little Christmas gifts. This gorgeous girl is going to get some serious loving go back over to her shortly.

Paper Dolls Again!

Hi There Blogging Friends. I've been dabbling in "Steampunk" for my January Swap of Paper Art Dolls and it has been a lot of fun. These two ladies were a free image gift on the net (sorry, I can't remember where), so I altered them to create the two dolls. I think the one on the left is saying to her friend;

"yes.....just another day running a machinery company!" .....lol.

And....my mail has brought some lovely gifts. This pretty ATC was sent by my partner, Donna from Red Apple Junction in the 'Vintage' Swap. It is soooo nice as it has been glued to a small photo frame backing, so I can stand it up....thankyou Donna.

This precious ATC was a gift that I won in a Giveaway with Laura over at Artfully Musing. What a joy it will be to bring it out each New Year....thankyou Laura, I love it!

What A Challenge!

My friends over at the 'Roses On My Table' site really tested me out with this months Tag Swap. You see; the subject was 'I See London, I See France' which; one would think as I did.....mmmm, travel; I can do that!

Well; the truth of the matter is travel wasn't in it at all. You see; way back in old school days, the girls over in the USA used to play on the monkey bars at recess times and....when someone tipped themselves upside down, the others used to chant "I see London, I see France, I can see Your Underpants!" Now isn't that a giggle...lol!

Well, with this not being a practice in Australia in my old school days, I found it quite hard to interpret this into my tags...but with some ummmming and arrrring; these are the tags I came up with....

Here's a closer look at a couple...

I had previously purchased the cute animal and house graphic images from Donna at 'Collage Anonymous' on Etsy. So it was a matter of shrinking them down and making up some "underpants" with the collage trim. I really enjoyed using my Artist Coloured Pencils to complete the scenes.

January Tag and Journal Journey

Hi There blogging friends. Here's what I've been up to this week. Firstly; a pretty tag swap with the girls on the Altered Paper Blog. The subject is January, so I chose to send my partner a sweet angel to bring in the New Year.

Secondly; I joined in on the 2012 Journal Journey group at my favourite place; 'Roses On My Table'. This is my first time I've ever put anything in a journal. Our journal is a 'Mixed Media' one so; anything goes....here are the stages of my pages for the first prompt 'New Beginnings';

First layer of Papers.....
Second layer of acrylic painting....

Third layer of stamping.....

Fourth layer of adding texture with 'found' objects e.g. bubble wrap....

Final layer with cut outs, white washes, stencilling and anything else you want to finish with...

Hi There Blogging Friends! Oh; how nice the days are between Christmas and New Year. There's time to relax and enjoy your Christmas Gifts and plenty of time to do things that you love to do.

If you read my last post, my Christmas Gift was a new aeiral on the top of my house for my Internet connection and; as it was a "must have" I didn't expect anything else.

So; you could imagine how shocked I was, when my husband surprised me with this "drop dead gorgeous puppy" for my real Christmas Gift.

Isn't he an adorable ball of fluff, I love him to bits and am having a fun time introducing him to our household. His name is "Jake" and he is already showing that he is a quick learner and just loves to sit as close as possible to us...at the moment his favourite spot is on on my feet when I am working on the computer...which will be a great asset in the winter time...lol!

Then; my other good stuff to relax with is some reading material. I chose this huge book to sink my teeth into. I always figure if the books big....its got to be a big story and haven't been disappointed yet. The cover and the blurb has me keen to start reading it, as I love war time stories.
Life wouldn't be living without some favourite mags to drool over, so one of my current "must haves" is the English Magazine " The Craft Stamper". I have this one ordered at my newsagent now and can't wait for it to turn up each month.

We are given a free stamp which is a bonus and there's always some great new technique to play around with. This dimensional tag project by Helen Chilton on Page 24 is sure to challenge me to try something very different. Love the colours too....

Whilst picking up my mag at the newsagent, I also discovered this bright and happy magazine called; 'Cloth Paper Scissors'. The delightful houses on the cover got me straight in, as I do work with small wooden houses quite a bit. However; a quick glace inside has revealed lots of other fab projects to do to.....

I have a box full of these wooden houses, primed and ready for decoration...2012 is going to be a lot of fun with a 'Home Sweet Home' theme...

Here's a sneek peek of one of the other cute projects. Erin Butson ( blog: artbyerinleigh.blogspot.com) created these paper mache angels for the top of the Christmas Tree or; just to sit around the house. They would make lovely gifts for Christmas 2012, so why not start now...

and.....I've been sewing as well. My craft group is having a display and sale of work for the Taree Summer Festival during January 3rd - 20 from our Craft Cottage, Cnr High & Pulteney Streets, Taree. Our theme is 'At The Bottom of The Garden' so I am in the process of making these little Decorators Pillows. I printed all the vintage images off the Internet and loved how they came up.

Still finishing them off and have a few more to make up yet.

mmmm.....2012 is looking good, don't you think?

Hi There Blogging Friends. I can't help but feel how lovely it is; that this delightful man pops up once a year, at a very special time - the birth of Christ; and reminds us to fill our hearts with sharing, caring and giving.
On the sharing side; I took some time out to create some pretty Christmas Cones, Fridge Magnets and Tags and held a workshop to teach my Papercrafting friends how to make them. It was a great day and the last of our monthly workshops for this year.

Here are the pretty cones....

and the fridge magnets; which were a nice alternative to sending a a Christmas Card. The house images are stamps....just love them;

the back has a magnet on it and a little note 'From Our House To Yours'.

Now; the sweet little tags. They are also a house stamp, so one side is the stamped house and the other side is our own decorated house...they were tiny and cute!

Then; there was the "giving". It has been wonderful to share some handmade ATC's. All my friends received some of these...

and I made the ATC below especially for a blogger who I admire greatly; Kimberly from 'Art Joy'.

Kimberly often runs ATC swaps and I was lucky enough to be accepted into her Christmas Swap where she made 25 individual ATC's for people all over the world. My ATC came in this beautiful pocket with a tag on the front.....

On the sewing front; one of my designs was published for the second time by the 'Australian Handmade Magazine' and.....I'm on the front cover......thankyou Handmade!

My sewing machine has also been busy sewing gifts to sell in our local craft shop. These lavender bags are a much sought after gift for Christmas.

Finally; the "caring" side of Christmas. Since coming back home from my trip I've had a dreadful time again, trying to pick up a signal for my new wireless set up. You may remember how the whole thing of changing over to wireless put me off the air for months before I left for my trip in March.

Well; those problems were still here. So; after weeks of tooing and frowing between Telstra and the local technicians, my much loved husband helped me to organise and pay for; a huge aerial with a huge price, and had it put on the top of our house. It is definately my Christmas Present this year but one I will enjoy, as it is good to be able to use my computers properly again.

Home Again and.....Busy....Busy...!

Hi There Blogging Friends! I am back in my lovely home after travelling 20,000klms on an amazing trip through the Top End of Australia and, the entire state of Western Australia. It is a blessing to have covered so much territory safely and happily and I would recommend an "Aussie Outback Experience" to anyone.

Although we have been home for a few weeks; we haven't had a moment to sit idle. The fine red dust of the outback is like baby powder and settles in and on everything you have with you, while travelling so........it has been clean, clean, clean and there is still more to do.

However; I have taken a couple of breaks to finish off my swap commitments with my USA friends at 'Roses On My Table' and; to also finished my October challenge with my own local Papercraft Artist friends. Here are some pics.....

The final doll for the 'Le Papiere' Dolls swap at Roses was a Christmas doll to hang on a tree. I made the first one to send..... then; I made this second one "just for fun". See how you can play around with the arms and legs...I love doing that!

The tag swap group at Roses had a Christmas Tag for December; here is mine....

Then; the main theme was 'Statues' and............as I started this one while I was travelling, I had to mock up a statue so; I was inspired by the Helen Reddy song "I am Woman" to create a statue dedicated to Women.

The final swap for the year for the Roses ATC group was 'Holidays' and.......as most Australians head for the beach during the hot weather over the Christmas season, I made mine as 'Holiday by the Seaside'.

Finally, my local group had the theme 'Anything French' for their October challenge, so; I decided to create some Paris dresses and put them on cards.

It's time to get serious now and return to my textile design work....I've pulled out some gorgeous fabrics and am in full contemplation.....well......it's a start.....isn't it??

Paper Art Dolls are Fun to Make!

Oh yes Blogging Friends; I've discovered 'Paper Art Dolls' and have had a great time creating these two for a swap with some USA friends.

They are both about 10 inches tall. This is my 'Boo Witch'; she doesn't move but has a hanger on the back....

This is my 'Bat Witch' and she has moveable arms and legs, plus a hanger on the back...

On the travelling side; I came across these fabulous historical pictures, in a museum and they got me wondering "why don't all men wear hats like they used to"?????

Works in Progress and A Town Like No Other

Hi There Blogging Friends! Have you got some "works in progress" (WIP'S) in your stash??? I have...and always will have because; I always seem to think that I can do more than one thing at a time!

I'm sure it's some sort of disease because, I'm totally incurable. Each year I make a New Years Resolution that I am going to finish all my projects during the year; but I always start more.... so my pile never ends!

With travel and discovering new places being our focus this year; I thought as I travel, I might be able to make a small dent in my stitchery WIP'S basket...... so I brought these along with me.

These cute cats, which I found in a very old English Magazine were a set for a stitchery quilt. I put two of my favourite one's together and added the little dragonfly so that the design matched the fabrics. Don't know what I will end up making out of it but they are finally out on my table and I am looking forward to finishing them. Not much to do actually; so here's hoping the project is finished before next years New Years Resolutions....lol!

My new discovery in the lovely State of Western Australia is a town called; 'New Norcia'.
This town is one of Australia's "blessings". It is a 'Monastic' town; one of the very few in the world and is owned and operated by Benedictine Monks.

The Monks established a monastery in 1846 and went on to build an Abby Church, some twenty homes, a hotel, a roadhouse, flour mills, boarding schools for boys and girls with associated school facilities and a collection of farm buildings and workshops.

The self sufficiency of the Monks and the people who lived in the town in the early days was outstanding. Spending time in the Museum; reading about the lifestyle and viewing the solid practical tools that were used each day; had me feeling that we have "lost something" in our drive to live in a modern world.

The architecture, art work and internal features of the buildings were "stilling".....here are just a few pics that we had approval to take.

I've experimenting with ART!

Hi There Blogging Friends! For some time now I've been wanting to do some creative work that has "no rules" and gives you the freedom to dab with a brush, sponge, splash, sew, cut out, glue or do whatever fun thing you want to do with whatever is at hand or; with whatever just "tickles your fancy".

I've come to realise that this is what is called 'MIXED MEDIA ART'. Now; I don't know about you; but as a long time CRAFTER the word ART seems to be quite daunting and something like a "no-go zone" for people who dabble in craft.

Well; let me tell you that the ART world is open to everyone and I've found the perfect place to get in there and have a go.

The "place" is a group run by the very talented USA Artist, Cristina 'Zinna' Galliher and is called 'ROSES ON MY TABLE'.

Zinnia offers a supportive environment where beginners can take up reasonably priced Mixed Media On-line Classes with step by step video's and also participate with a whole group of arty people, either by building friendships to share arty thoughts and achievements or by joining in on swaps of; Art Tags, Inchies, Artists Trading Cards, Papers Doll Exchanges and Dotee Doll Exchanges.

I loved the quirky style of the 'Four of a Kind' 0n-line class which is a great start for beginners; so I signed up! Zinnia shows you how to begin a design in an Art Journal then; transfer the best aspects to Canvas. I am in practice mode already.....

This is my first attempt with 'Two of a Kind' on Watercolour paper . Didn't opened the journal to layout my Four of a Kind ....I wasn't that brave...lol. However; I think I can move onto it now that I have an idea of how to handle watercolours, coloured pencils, gluing old papers on backgrounds, cutting and shaping the dolls and also using stamps and gesso to soften or create interest in the background.

I also joined the 'Tag Art Swap Group' too. The group works with a bi-monthly subject where members are required to send three completed tags to the co-ordinator and; after the closing date you receive three different tags back, which were completed by other members.

The subject for this round was; Ancient Cities. I chose 'Jerusalem - The Holy City'.

So; if you've been wanting to spread your wings and have some fun with arty stuff; pop on over to Zinnia's site , join up as a Member and take a look at the possibilities.

Nature's gift of these beautiful fields of wildflowers is a sight to behold and; the bonus of sweet colourful birdies just tops it all off.

This is just the start of my adventure into 'Wildflower Country - Western Australia' so I'm at the tip of the iceberg!

After this journey through the wildflowers; like my little poem says; "seventh heaven I will know"!

Anyone for Tea?

Hi There Blogging Friends! mmm....I love a cup of tea and; I also love to send my own design of Tea Pot cards, out to friends that like a drop of the liquid amber too.

The little pocket on the outside of the card holds one of my favourite tea's "Twinings - Prince of Wales". Do you have a favourite tea?...do tell if you do!

I've also been busy working on projects for my 'Papercraft Artists' group challenges. The first one is for our August challenge; a project using "inchies". This is the first time I have ever made "inchies"... 1 inch x 1 inch works of art and; I must say they were very challenging.

I did the layout on the top of a blank CD tin and dedicated it to 'The Many Strengths of a Woman'.

My next project is for our September subject challenge 'Travel'. I forgot to take a photo of it when I finished it, so here's one when it was wrapped in cellophane, ready to send to my friend Jenny at home.

I used several stamps in the project but the main ones are a Stampin' Up set which are fabulous for travel or journey projects.

A Great Little Market

Hi There Blogging Friends. I've had the opportunity to stay awhile in the peaceful town of Carnarvon in WA. The town meets the Western Coastline and is gentle on the eyes after the red earth of the inland Outback.

Here; my favourite thing "made by hand" flourishes with a delightful belt of plantations, growing bananas, mangoes, tomatoes and a range of crisp vegetables. Every Saturday morning the farmers link with the crafters in the area and hold a sweet little market right in the heart of the town.

On our first visit to the market we were captured by the music of the Soldiers of the 'Perth Australian Navy Band' who were in the area, helping local people who were affected by the floods that devastated the area late 2010.

Big Band music at it's best....

Fruit and Vegetables picked the day before....yum!

The biggest Free Range eggs I have ever seen......

Divine Mango "Munchiness".........and you can try before you buy too......

Handmade chocolates and sweets to die for......

Some different handmades like these cute little papercraft mini albums with photo's of the local attractions inside.....perfect for the handbag...

Some chunky glass rings....love the display in local sand....

Bright and colourful jewellery which suit the warm winter climate....up to 28 degrees everyday....!!!

Babies are not forgotten as Ella from 'Ella's Nappy Cakes' makes gorgeous faux cakes out of baby products. The perfect Baby Shower Gift.....

Serious Seaside Business

Yes blogging friends; a few weeks ago "there was definately sand and sea water in my slippers".

The fact that I didn't have any rubber water walkers to explore a beautiful WA beach and reef wasn't going to stop me; my slippers did the job very well but; are now "at rest" in a garbage bin...lol!

Nature has the beautiful knack of showing us how to put things together. It's all there for free....all we have to do is to "look into" nature; not just "at it".

Can you see the sea shells amongst the beach rocks?

Look up to the sand dunes from the shoreline...what do you see?

The biggest rocks are the furtherest away.

The medium sized rocks are pulled by the tide to the centre.

The tiny rocks drift with the tide to the shoreline.

and what is created?

Natural depth in the composition.

A lesson free from Nature for our crafting work.

A closer look at some rocks and shells shows us how texture creates interest.

Next time you are at the beach...pause and look into the scene.....there is sure to be a lesson to learn.

Outback Mining

Blogging friends; when you see just about everyone in the town walking around in these clothes, you know that you are in a mining town and..........mining towns there are; in the Pilbara Region of Western Australia.

This pic below is only a small portion of the biggest iron ore open cut mine in the world; which happens to be here in Western Australia at Newman. The depth is awesome with huge trucks and machinery looking like little ants moving around on the edges. This mine will be operating for many more years to come but; when the mining is finished a huge portion of it will become a lake and other areas will be re-habilitated to its former natural state....what a wonderful thought for the people in the area.

The Iron Ore that is extracted from this mine operation is handle by "whopping" equipment. Take a look at how I am dwarfed (that's me on the left) by just the tyre of the huge dump trucks, that carry the iron ore from the base of the mine to the stock piles....

Then; there are big road trains that travel the roads constantly with all types of supplies for the mining operations.....I tell you friends when you meet these giants on the roadways, you just move over and give them the road...lol!

The locomotives that carry the iron ore from Newman to Port Hedland are also massive. The companies handbook says; that (quote) "a typical train will have six locomotives pulling more than 42,000 tonnes of iron ore. Most trains have 336 ore cars with each carrying approximately 125 tonnes of ore. The trains are up to 3.75 kilometres long and the journey from Newman to Port Hedland takes approximately eight hours". (unquote). Now that is definately "heavy haulage"......

then; there are the monsterous ships which carry the iron ore to Overseas Ports. Again the company handbook says; (quote) The Finucane Island facility is capable of handling four ships, each up to 330 metre long and carrying up to 250,000 tonnes of ore. A dock shiploader can load at a rate of about 10,000 tonnes an hour. On average, it takes about 30 hours to load a ship and around 850 ships are loaded each year at Port Hedland. (unquote).

It is an awesome operation which covers vast areas of land. Like most people, I wondered how the environment handled such a massive impact and; I am pleased to say that it was more than evident that nature is quite okey with all that is happening around it. "Rose Hops" pictured below grown happily in the mining area.....

The pretty flowers are a sweet contrast to the ancient rocks that are being turned over with the mining operation...

A wetland functions without disturbance at the rail head facility in Port Hedland. On our tour; an amazing amount of birds were enjoying their little bit of paradise.....

and further out in the countryside surrounding the mining district, the wildflowers that Western Australia is famous for; still go about their yearly business of putting on a grand show....

and; nearby National treasures like the 'Karajini National Park' continue on their timeless journey from as far back as Ancient times, without any interruption. The pic below shows how nature itself can put a whopping hole in the ground as well.....

well; they had to climb down the steep walls of this gorge and walk along its base to get there......oh to be young again!!

Lovely trees also flourish in the mining region. These delightful Gums grow in low lying areas which flood with water during the "Wet Season" of the Top End.

The future for mining in Australia is very positive and....extremely important for our economy. It was heart warming to see mining companies providing much needed employment; but at the same time providing "Environmental Services" to work hand in hand with nature, to care for our land.

Vintage Shopping

Hi There Blogging Friends! I just love poking around in second hand shops, op shops and commercial shops with vintage things for sale and; I must say that I was getting starved for anything remotely vintage for sale in the Outback, until I came across this delightful shop at Katherine in the N.T.

The shop is called "Off The Shelf Collectibles" and is smack bang in the main street, so is easy to find. I asked the owner could I take some pics of her fabulous stock and the fixtures that her man made for her. Just love them.....

And what about this iron collection and the great fixture they are sitting on as well......rustic charm at its best!

A darling vintage pram.....and in top condition too.

If there is china around; you will find me drooling over it. These English pieces are just timeless....never get tired of seeing them.

Then; there was this magnificent antique stove...still wishing I could have taken that one home with me...sigh!

Oh; how I do remember my sister and I trying to help our Mother ring the washing out with these wringers. We used to struggle to turn the handle when the sheets and towels were going through and Mum used to have to take over....Mothers did it tough in the "good old days" that's for sure.

and....did I buy anything?? Of course I did!! I have been looking for one of these old lemon squeezing dishes for a long time and this one was just perfect...no chips and hardly used; so I grabbed it...lol!

Amazing Rocks from the Outback

If you every get a chance to travel into the Australian Outback blogging friends; a "must see" are the beautiful natural rocks at Kununurra W.A.

We were fortunate enough to spend quite a bit of time with this lovely young lady pictured below; Samantha Long from 'Rockalong Stonework at Kununurra.

Samantha worked on a piece of rock for us and was more than patient with us while we "ummmmed and arrrrrred" about the design.

Samantha works in the business with her father Mick Long and between them they craft all of their showroom gift items by hand.

I wouldn't attempt to tell you which rock is named what as there was such a variety, but a popular rock was "zebra rock". The pic below is a first stage of crafting where the rocks have been cut and trimmed then; buffed to a smooth surface.

These have then been coated with varnish and trims such as clocks and candle holders added.

A rock vase...have you ever seen one? How unique!

These beautiful pieces have been hand painted by Samantha. The Boab Tree is a familiar sight in the North Western Outback.....love it!

and what about these animals, they blend beautifully with the rocks. Samantha has a lot of talent!

The 'Bungle Bungle National Park' is nearby and these rocks are a lovely example of the real rocks in the Park. I thought they were cute!

I think you will agree; that this is "handcrafting" at its best!

Outback Touring but....still crafting!

Hi There Blogging Friends! Although the challenging roads of the Great Australian Outback are keeping us on our toes; I haven't lost my crafting focus.....

Visiting markets at every town to get my craft fix, is a absolute priority and here is a "too cute" idea from a crafty lady in Kununurra W.A. Pretty drink coolers or stubby holders for the girls.

Spare minutes are spent reading some fabulous publications that I brought with me. This 'Sew Somerset magazine is a delightful array of creative sewing...gosh I love it!....

Here's a sneak peek at one of my favourite projects in the magazine; "The Fisherman's Daughter" by Theresa Martin. Isn't it gorgeous!

Then; there's my other favourite hobby "stamping" and this magazine 'Craft Stamper' is just filled with wonderful ideas and techniques. Every time I pick it up I read something that I missed before.......

Here's a sneak peek in this mag for you as well. This stunning project is by Jean Hardy and; as "inchies" are an upcoming project with my Papercraft Artist Friends, I am drooling at the way Jean has worked with these one inch tiles;

Then; I'm keeping up with my monthly projects with my Papercraft Artist friends. Our June project was simply 'The Colour is Blue and White'. So; I made a sweet folded card; this is the front when it is wrapped up......

Outback Snaps

Hi there blogging friends! My trip through Australia's outback has given me great insight into more than the red dust the Outback is know for.

So; I thought I would share some pics of regular Outback folk "kicking up their heels" and a little bit of history as well.

Outback Shearers gave a street display on how they get the wool off the sheep's back......not a very attractive pose for Mrs Ewe....

Mrs Ewe knows that "a good grip is essential".....

It used to be "men only" in the shearing sheds; but not anymore. This lady demonstrates that she is a competent wool classer....

If you're going to have a town festival in the Outback; bringing out the Hot Rods is a "must do".....

and....if you don't have a drag strip to test your machine out; the Airport Runway will do! There was plenty of "smokin' fun"........

Then; when night falls there's no need to stay at home to watch TV....just put it in the boot and you've got an instant lounge room.....

If you think the city girls are are the only ones that can take a "pole" on as a challenge...think again....Outback girls make it look easy peasy....

clowns smile anywhere!......

and if you're going for a record with the "longest driveway" at your house; you've got a good bit of competition with Outback Stations. The driveway to this Homestead was 120Klms....which took us 3.5hours to navigate....thank goodness for 4 wheel drives!

then; there is Outback brilliance......if a war is on....which there was in 1942; make sure your town has an underground hospital. Here is a nurse at the medical cabinet......

and this is the maternity ward....

and finally; always remember to "chock the wheels" when you take your camper off the car in a caravan park, otherwise it just hits the road on its own !!!

Papercraft Treasures

Hi There Blogging Friends. Thought you might like to see some papercraft items I made recently.

A set of note cards and a tag are a really nice gift to give. So; I make two cards and a tag which compliment each other. The cards have a blank insert inside which is also in a complimentary colour to the outside. Here is a pic of a set below;

Each card is placed in a cellophane or clear plastic bag, with all the bag edges wrapped tightly around the card. Then; the cards are placed back to back and wrapped with ribbon, and the tag tied to the top as pictured below.

Following are two single cards I made at the same time...

And only last week; I made my first ATC for a swap with my new Papercrafting Girlfriends.

Hi there blogging friends! If you thought that I had dropped off the planet never to be seen again; believe me, I feel as though I have been lost in cyberspace and; this little piece of technology is to blame.

It was supposed to be simple; buy a laptop and go wireless...mmmm well it wasn't and I am still struggling with all the new and very different software.

However; I am not going to bore you all with all the trials and tribulations I've been through as, I have finally managed to get this far and actually do my first blog post so I'm just going to get on with it........

I'm still fiddling around in Papercrafts....its all the fault of some new friends that I hitched up with after our Papercrafts Expo....they know who they are and; I'm sure they will take responsibility for keeping me from my sewing.

I "have" been doing some sewing; but didn't think that mending my husbands pj's would count; so haven't got a picture for you...lol.

Anyway; what I do have is some pics of a little book I made recently with "those new friends".

For the remainder of 2011 my husband and I will be travelling a lot; hence the reason for the new laptop. So; if I can keep on top of this new software to keep posting; I will be able to show you some interesting bits and pieces from different places in Australia.

Some Inside Info - 'Month of Love Booklet'

I've had some requests to show a bit of detail on how I made my 'Month of Love' Booklet so; here it is....

Firstly; decide on a colour scheme and gather items for consideration. I used two sheets of 12in x 12in Kaisercrafts 'Love Notes Collection' Scrapbooking Paper, plus a sheet of pink heavy card and grey light card from my stash. I also used the "Love Notes" stamp set and a couple of other stamps I had, plus some die cuts, stickers and bling from my stash; and some rub-on's in the pink colour.

I cut;

one; 12in x 8in sheet of Pink Heavy Cardboard (Brazzil) for the front and back cover

one; 12in x 8in paper sheet of 'Love Notes' spotted side for the outside front and back cover

two; 5.75in x 7.75in paper sheets of 'Love Notes' lacey side for the inside of the cover

one; 11.75in x 7.75in grey page light card for the pages

The images were then cut out and a stamp colour selected to ink the edges. I chose a teal green colour (Versacolour - Winter Green) as there was a small section between the couple in my main front picture in that colour which I thought blended well with the pink.

I find it best to use a fairly "darkish" colour for inking edges; black, chocolate brown etc are all good, but always consider other "brightish" colours, as they may also work well to blend all of your cutouts and pages together.

Only use a very small piece of sponge and if the dye in the pad is strong, put a disposable glove on, to keep stains off your fingers. I hold the image so the edge is looking straight up at me then; stroke along the edge with the inked sponge. If I want a bit more colour on the actual paper, I then point the edge away from me so that I am seeing more paper and stroke the edge gently with the sponge from left to right

I dyed some of my white 'Crinkled Seam Binding' with the colour from the stamp pad. I lightly wet my gloved fingers with some water, to spread the dye along the ribbon. Then; just kept padding with the stamp pad and squashing the ribbon up until I had the desired colour.

The next step was to "audition" my bits and pieces to see how they would look on the front cover. I laid some vintage lace down first then the ribbon around the middle mark and played around with the other embellishments until I was happy with my scene. The free digital vintage print (sorry cannot remember where I got it from) was the main star of my story and I found a line in a old song book "I'm with you once more - under the stars" to link it together. The hearts were stamped from the 'Love Notes' Stamp Collection and the bird and swirl were die cuts from my stash. The gorgeous bling tree was purchased at 'Scrapawhile, Taree and from memory the brand was Green Paper...you should see the range; its stunning!

Once the embellishments were decided upon, I set them aside and sewed the lace to the paper sheet with the sewing machine. The two side "silver" ties were glued to the back of the sheet also (not showing in this photo, but you will see them in the finished photo).

Then; double sided tape was applied to all edges and the centre of the back of the sheet in readiness for glueing to the main pink cardboard sheet later.

I taped a plastic ruler to my work mat on a vertical line. Then; I slid the cover paper sheet underneath it with one side of the ruler edge sitting on the exact centre line. All of the front cover embellishments were then glued in place on the right hand side, either with double sided tape or craft glue. I secured the branches of the tree with a few stitches from a needle and thread, plus craft glue at the base.

The last step for the embellishment of the front and back cover was to stamp an image on the left hand side for the back cover. It's not showing here; but you will see it in the previous post. The front cover was then complete and set aside.

The next step is an important one (sorry I haven't got a photo). One side of the 12in x 8in pink heavy cardstock is now needed to be prepared for the inside of the cover. I glued the inside cover papers; both measuring 5.75in x 7.75in to the left and right on the 12in x 8in Pink Cover Card.

The measurement allows for a quarter inch seam to be left down the middle of the sheet. This is the "expansion" gap which will allow you to fold your book easily.

All inside sheets must have this gap....take note of it in the next photo and in the one where I am sewing the book together from the inside. The measurement also allows for a one eighth border around the top, bottom and side edges.

To finish the front and back cover, I removed the double sided tape from the back of the front cover and glued it to the back of the prepared inside cover.

As you will see from the photo below; I then prepared both sides of my 11.75in x 7.75in grey "pages sheet". Pockets were cut from card and papers, layers were cut and layered with double sided tape, stamping and glitter glue was also used and tags were made from scratch or by using the Creative Memories Tag Maker.

One sheet was treated as four individual pages and the all important "expansion" seam was left down the middle. Also the side edges of pockets were also kept away from the seam to decrease bulk when folding the book..

Once the individual pages are complete on both sides of the 11.75in x 7.75in, they were "sandwiched" together with the cover.

Washing pegs were used to hold the two sheets of embellished work together.

A pencil line was drawn from the top to the bottom of the middle line and then sewn on with my sewing machine. This creates the spine seam. Generally a normal sewing machine needle will sew effectively, but if cardboard is thick; a "jeans" sewing machine needle is best to use.

After sewing the spine; gently fold the book over until it stays in place. I use a 'bone scorer' on the outside edge to press the spine down. A blunt knife handle can also be used.

My lovely 'Crinkled Seam Binding' was then wrapped around the inside middle, and out to the spine of the book then; tied in a bow.

Phew.....I hope my instructions are clear enough for you to have a go at making your own 'Month Of Love' Booklet. They really are easy, and are a special keepsake or gift.

Stamp It Up!!

Last Saturday was one of the hottest days we had last week but;

when I was given the opportunity to go along to a Stampin' Up Workshop, my lifeless body sprang into action.....lol! Well....I must admit the air conditioned room was a big draw card, but the prospect of having some stamping fun with 25-30 other ladies was also enticing.

Our two lovely, local Stampin' Up Demonstrators, Michelle Snape and Nicola Ryan did not let the heat daunt them...no; the girls were fired up to introduce us to the 'Summer Mini Catalogue' and the new fun stamps which have just come on the market...

I love Stampin' Up products; the company really does its homework to provide customers with the stamps they want and........ you can't go wrong with their system of creating cardstock, ink pads, embellishments and stamps to link together by colour and design. These cute cars were a response to customers asking for more stamps for men.......they won me over, I think they are great!

This ship is also in the same stamp set, which is called 'Sentimental Journey'. I was a bit worried about it at first....thought I might have a ship swinging around in mid air...but a bit of sponging with the 'Night of Navy' stamp pad, which matches the cardstock and I had a deep blue ocean for it to sail on. I added a few non-Stampin' Up stickers and glitter glue to finish it off and I was pleased with it...think my man would like it too.

Our other two cards in the session were "delicate" and as I already have the 'Stampin' Up' Butterfly punch in my collection, I was keen to try the stamp set as well and..... guess what.....yes....I love it too.....hello wish list!

My camera's battery died before I could photograph two other cards; one I made in the workshop and another I made in our "free time".

I had so much fun that I have booked in for next month's workshop.

Just Fiddling!

mmmm....I have to confess that I'm doing very little during the current heatwave we are having here in OZ. Even with the blessing of an air conditioned home; I feel like a rag doll...all floppy in the arms and limbs, even the head feels wobbly....I'm a sad case of "I'm too hot to do anything"...lol!

So; to keep myself amused I've been fiddling around unpacking boxes that came back home from the Papercrafts Expo and finding places to put things.

I demonstrated the making of these pretty tags on one of the Expo days and gave them away to visitors as I made them; but these were left over from the display so I decided to decorate some of my glass bottles with them.

I purchased the gorgeous digital prints from Just Dream Designs on Etsy.

I made the tags with a 'Creative Memories' tag punch....

then; I used stamp pad ink to sponge the edges of both the tag and the images, you will notice that I sponged a bit of the blue coloured ink onto the image on this one...just to bring the background into the image colours.....

I used background stamps and stickers to decorate with.....

and.....glitter glue to highlight the wings.

You might have also noticed that I have fallen in love with 'Crinkled Seam Binding' which I purchased from the States. I used it for the tag trims here and also for my 'Romantic Gothic Ghost' display in one of my previous posts.

I love it so much I'm seriously thinking of buying rolls in to "hand crinkle" myself and have it for sale here on my blog. What do you think......is it dreamy enough for you to buy???

It's Brag Time !!

I've been living in Papercrafts land for so long lately, that I haven't been bragging about my published work....well that will never do so; here is the current 'Handmade' magazine with my Beach Bag; 'Aquatic Fantasy'. I loved designing and making this bag

The bag is actually round, so here's a pic from my files to show the shape. It will hold a beach towel, sunnies and other bits and pieces quite well.

Hi There Blogging Friends! The Papercrafts Expo that I have been organising for the last six months was held recently and what a success it was. Hi there to all the 'Papercrafters' who travelled far and wide to visit our humble Craft Cottage and join in on the Expo.

Following are pics of my display. The items are the result of an on-line class called 'Romantic Gothic Ghosts' by Karla Nathan and Beth Leintz, which I thoroughly enjoyed; and was thrilled to be able to share with so many visitors to our Expo.

A Banner, Tags, Hanging Cones and Altered Books make up the display.

I had a lot of fun finding the old silver pieces in our local "op" shops, I'm sure I will use those again. Now....its time to settle down and finish off a few projects.

Bookmark Mania !

Yes Blogging Friends; I've been creating bookmarks by the dozens for a session I will be presenting with my friend Sue at our up coming 'Papercrafts Expo' on the 20th Jan.

The idea was to use bookmarks as a product to demonstrate how to use a laminater. The process would certainly have shown crafters how to use a laminater but; I got to thinking that our bookmarks would look pretty ordinary.

So....I slept on it for a couple of days and eventually decided that I wanted a decorative touch; and this is what I came up with......

I put border stickers on the blank sections of these little bird pics; before we put them through the laminater...and they came out looking very pretty....

Then; I used lots of fancy knitting yarns and ribbons for ties and also put some corner stickers on the outside of some laminated bookmarks....

I also added brads, flowers and other embellishments to the ties...

The corners all eventually got rounded with a corner punch as well...

mmm.....a girl can never have too many bookmarks...love them all!

Some Changes For Me.....

Hi there Blogging Friends! With 2010 almost over, I've had to face the fact that I am 61 years of age and not getting any younger!!! I know some of you out there will know how hard that is.

However; there does come a time when one has to consider how every dream will be realised, before one takes that big peaceful sleep.

This subject has been on my mind for some time now and after a lot of thought I decided to give myself a "semi-retirement" date of the 31st December, 2010 and; to cut out my commitments and responsibilities outside my design work and blog.

Lots of things have had to go, but one of the hardest has been to announce my retirement from The Gum Tree Designers. The concept of several Aussie designers coming together as a working group and sharing a blog, has always been close to my heart and; the time spent with Jenny, Dawn, Vicki, Joy and Fiona; the current Gum Tree Designers and Cheryl, Paula and Vikki, previous Gum Tree girls will always be a wonderful memory.

Below are some pics of the last swap I shared with the current girls....an Apron for Christmas 2010.....this is me in my Apron which Dawn made for me;

isn't it gorgeous!! I love it...thankyou Dawn.

Some of you who follow my blog may remember me having an "apron frenzy" awhile back and showing you this design, which I started to create at the time,

well...the design and sewing, was put aside while I dealt with magazine projects so; when my Gum Tree partner Vicki asked me to make her an Apron in Green...I just knew this one was right for her. It was promptly finished and sent to Vicki. Check out Vicki wearing it on her blog...here;

So....what am I doing now? Well; I am very busy organising the Papercrafts Expo for my Craft Group and am still grabbing every moment to create projects for the displays.

This is what's on my desk at the moment; and I am having heaps of fun with it....

Christmas Wishes and Two More Projects

Hi There blogging friends! The Holiday Season is almost here and the Christmas Spirit is everywhere. This lovely card was shared with us all by Feathers and Flight, and I loved it so much, I decided to share it with you as well....Merry Christmas All.

Following are two more projects for our Papercrafts Expo to be held here in Taree in January.

I wanted something different so, decided to have one of my favourite photo's processed in both Sepia and Black and White instead of the usual colour and I must say I am delighted with the results. This is a wall hanging;

and this one is a journal.

I'll be spending time with my precious family until New Year, so will be back in 2011.....enjoy your holiday break!

Slow Progress!

Big things are supposed to be happening in my Studio; but unfortunately, there isn't much to report, at this stage.

However; I have a deadline of 19th January, 2011 to come up with some Papercraft Projects so; after Christmas the Studio door will be locked with me inside...lol!

As you can see, I made a good start awhile back, with some paper goodies from my stash....

but; this sweet wall hanging is the only thing that got over the finish line.

Can you see the little bird's nest and Mumma bird watching over her brood?

I've used an artists canvas to hold the layout. It's a good way to "get off the page" and hang some of your favourite photo's in the house or ........to give as a gift.

Oh my goodness is this man talented or WHAT!

The techniques Tim shared with us for the past 12 days has been nothing short of amazing.

I really love how Tim is able to give any new product an instant vintage look with his hammer, sandpaper or paper shredder. I'm thinking it's time to get "blokey" and pick up a hammer.....lol!

Holiday Crafting Fun!

Hi There Blogging Friends. I took a box of crafting goodness with me on my recent holiday and on a couple of peaceful mornings; I dived into it and made these jewellery items.

I am the absolute novice with jewellery making, but "gee I love it", so who knows; I could get hooked...mmmm better keep my unfinished quilts in view I think!

The brooches are pretty, can't decided which one will be mine..........they'll probably all vanish for Christmas gifts.

I do like this bracelet and brooch...it came up so simple and sweet.

Pink and green are my favourite colours...how am I going to part with this one then?

I've still got these cream and black beauties to play with. It's another favourite colour combination of mine..........think my jewellery box is going to get a face lift!

Blogging Break is OVER!

Oh Yes..... it sure is; and I am back in my Studio again. Do I have anything exciting to tell you...well no; not really........sun, surf, sand and sea breeze's were on the agenda for my blogging break and I didn't even carry my camera with me. It was BLISS!

However; while I spent lazy days in the summer sun, the lovely people at Express Publications were working and it was a nice surprise to see three of my projects in the current issue;

'Handmade - Quick Christmas Crafts' Vol:28 No:8,

I decided to create a project, for you to jazz up the bed for Christmas this year. It's two pillowslips and a cushion to match......

Then I got to thinking about the kitchen window sill and thought this cute little softie would jazz it up too......

A Blogging Break and Projects...... "Done & Dusted"

Yes Blogging Friends; my husband and I are loading up our vehicle and taking some time out to catch up with friends who we only see, once a year.

Being early summer; we look forward to four lovely weeks of fresh air, barbeque's, walks on the beach and pleasant company.

No phones; no computers; no deadlines......but....there will be a little bit of stitching to keep me from going rusty.

However; I do have a nice lot of my latest work to show you before I log off.

Remember this pile from my stash?

I got into it and created some mixed media Decorators Pillows.....this one is a pretty blue;

I dragged out my stamps and played with this one....

and...this gorgeous lady has been sitting on my desk looking at me for ages. Now; she has centre stage on this elegant cushion..........

I still had some nice cups left from my last round of pin cushion making, so I dabbled with these;

Then; I got a little bit crazy for making up some hession, (burlap to our USA sisters). These are all lavender pouches....mmmmm they do smell nice!

AND....to-day I received my copy of the latest Handmade magazine 'Christmas Gift-Giving', vol:28, no:7 with two of my designs published inside.....

Did You Read About It ?

One of our favourite Australian magazines 'Creating Country Threads' recently published an article called 'Beanies for The Troops'. Did you read the article; or is it one you skipped over for some reading time on your favourite crafts?

I have to say that the article gave me a "wake up call" to the fact that our men and women are at WAR.

mmmm..........our daily lives are filled with whatever we want to fill them with.....good food, good homes, good creative pursuits, good friendships.

When someone says "we are at WAR"; one almost thinks "what War?"

We are protected from such trauma and who is making sure we are protected?? Our Soldiers...that's who....and they need our help!

The article written by Nicole Macdonald gives an insight into the depth of the cold winter our troops endure.

One Soldiers reports; quote "where we are serving gets down to as low as four degrees at night and it's expected to get to down as far as minus 20 degrees" unquote.

That's mighty cold Blogging Friends....BUT YOU CAN HELP by grabbing some PURE WOOL YARN and knitting Skull Caps for the Troops to wear under their helmets while out on patrol and; if you are on a roll and want to do more; you can also knit full size beanies and scarves to wear on off duty time.

The article 'Beanies for the Troops' was published in Creating Country Threads, Vol:11 No:2, Page 58.

Knitting is not my best crafting medium...but even I can knit Skull Caps...so I am certain you won't have any trouble!

I'm told there are 4,000 Troops representing Australia in the War, so Blogging Friends print out the pattern from my free pattern site and read more about where to send these much needed items.

A Delightful Week

I had some fun this week shopping on Etsy and eBay. My first purchases were some sweet handmade items for some Christmas gifts.

Can't show the gifts because I know certain people will be peeping at my blog; but I wanted to show you the packaging that my purchase came in.

How gorgeous is this! A simple paper bag has been topped with a paper doiley then; a beautiful sticker, handmade card and a bow have been attached. What a joy it was to receive this lovely presentation.

Long live crafters with Etsy shops!

My next purchase on Etsy; was a cute handmade journal. I am collecting handmade books and journals at the moment; for a display at my craft groups 'Papercraft Expo' in January. So; I just had to have this sweet one . The Etsy seller sent the lovely French tag as a gift....wasn't that nice!

Then; I spent quite a few hours on eBay bidding for a small suitcase. I have been looking for one for ages and particularly wanted a vintage school suitcase. Did you have one of these? I did; and we used to call ours a 'School Port'. Have no idea why but they were "ports"!
This one is also going to be at our 'Papercrafts Expo' in January; but will be having a serious make-over first.

After shopping on the net this week; I had a play in my stash and dragged out things like ribbons, laces, doileys, fabric and printed images to create some stock for my craft groups cottage shop. Wonder what I will do with them? Got any ideas??

There is still some Etsy shopping to come in from some of my favourite crafters in the USA, so I will stalking the mailman for the next two weeks.

Vintage Goodness

Hi There Blogging Friends! Recently; I joined Mary Green's 'Collage Coterie' On-Line Class and was delighted to be introduced to a new friend. Our first lesson was to create a torn paper background then brush "GESSO" over it to create an aged look.

I had seen Gesso being referred to during other instructions but I used to just ignore it and use white folk art paint instead.

However; this time I felt it was time to discover this "new friend" and I am glad I did.

Below is my first attempt at the lesson; I used a paper mache tag then; covered it with my torn papers and brushed them over with Gesso. I love the way the Gesso gave the background a bit of a "spooky" look. The second part of the lesson was to work with appropriate image sizes for the piece of art so; I chose this sweet little girl who is heading off to bed with her favourite toy. I think her daddy is saying "Good Night and God Bless" and she has turned to acknowledge him. Or....maybe a ghostly figure whispered that!!!

My second attempt was also on a paper mache tag. This lesson wasn't so much about using the Gesso; it was about adding charcoal smudged edges to the images to make them stand out more.

I had worked on my tag and all was well.....but then.......I accidentally slopped a blob of Gesso onto my Bride's dress...oh dear.....I tried to remove it but it got worse.....I wiped a hole in the paper image!

So; after a bit of wondering what to do I grabbed a good dose of my new friend "Gesso" in a brush and completely covered the bride's dress then; I swirled a pattern all over with a pin. A few dots of Gesso on the bridal veil and the image was saved. You see; Gesso allows you to sculp a little....why didn't I go buy this fabulous product before ???

I am so looking forward to doing more of Mary's course to discover more new friends.

This love of the mixed media vintage look; which includes paper, fabric, stamping, chalks and inks is running through my veins at the moment....I can't get enough of it!

I love surfing the net to see what everyone is doing and recently I came across a gorgeous blog; Cape Cod Rambling Rose, which is operated by a very nice lady by the name of Louise. I fell instantly in love with a piece of Louise's work; so I purchased it from her Etsy shop. It is just so nice to see other people's work up close and I love Louise's book of fabric, lace and paper.

Louise also sent me these divine antique 'Cabinet Cards' . What a joy it is to see these up close....I haven't seen anything like them here in Australia...have you?

All this vintage inspiration got me very excited this past week, so my dear friend Sue and I went "op" shopping to seek out vintage finds.

This is what we brought home.....

beautiful cut-out work...

delightful cotton hand towels...

and "lotsa" lace and damask cloths...mmmmm they are nice!

All have been washed and ironed and are ready for me to make something special out of them.

This program was always going to be a 'once only' hosting; as my idea was to demonstate to you that we can minimise the Christmas "mad rush" and the stress we all suffer from it, by planning and starting on our Christmas Crafting as early as June each year.

WOW....we started off a bit slow with our Christmas Crafting of Personal Gifts, but oh my goodness Birdies a lot of you came home with a big finish!

Your work is outstanding and I have to say once again how wonderful it is; to know that "making by hand" is alive and well around the world.

My Challenge this month was to make a 'Heart Keepsake" and the finished projects were fantastic.

In choosing the winner I have kept my focus on the item being a "keepsake". In our Australian dictionary

the word 'keepsake' means; a gift kept in memory of the giver.

Martina (No:46) from Sunshine Quilting summed it all up with her beautiful hand worked heart and its lovely verse "A special friend is a treasure for life". Martina's heart is a true keepsake...congratulations Martina your are our Challenge Winner!

Again; a little bit hard to see but the background fabric in this table runner has lovely soft coloured hearts all over it...now that's nice isn't it!

There's only 9 days left in August Birdies and; from what I can see from hopping around blogs is that most of us are a bit slow with creating our "Personal Gifts" this month. So......here's some inspiration to get the fingers busy. The links are below each pic...take a look, there's bound to be something for someone on your list!

Hi There Early Birds - My Free August Pattern and Some Delightful Personal Gifts

I am back home again and catching up on everything so.......... am wondering where my "Early Birds" are up to ???

Have "Personal Gifts" been on your mind???

I hope so....... when Christmas comes around, it will be nice to lift the lid on your secret box or hidey hole and pull out a handmade gift.

If you are needing some inspiration to get going, there are some lovely ideas from some of our Birdies further down the post...but....firstly; I want to show you what I am going to send to you this month...

My FREE pattern will be a project I especially designed for the men in our lives.....mmmm.....it is hard to come up with a personal handmade gift for men, isn't it?

The pattern is for a carry bag, similar to the kit bags our Sailors used to carry on and off the ships but; a lot smaller of course. It is fully lined with a drawstring top and can hold a flask of hot water, a lunch box and a jumper . Then; the pattern has a smaller bag for a mug, spoon and tea bag; which......can also fit in the larger bag.

It is called 'Dad's Tucker Bag', but change the fabric and it can be a boy's beach bag and drink holder or a teenagers camping bag....think outside the square; I am sure you can put this pattern to good use for your Christmas Crafting.

Below are Early Bird gifts....divine fresh lavender and other fragrant sachets, beautiful photo cards, pretty handmade flowers, the warmest of mittens for the cold climates, trivets and potholders; a nice tote and a sweet little pig on a wheat bag for someone's very personal aches and pains.

As soon as I get a moment; I will convert my Dad's Tucker Bag pattern to PDF format and start emailing it out to you all over next week.

'HEART KEEPSAKE CHALLENGE'

Yes Birdies....I want you to make a "Keepsake" using a Heart or Hearts as the subject. The Project can be made from any colour or colours. You can use any embellishments that appeal to you and the project can be made in any crafting medium.

Your heart can be tiny or large, your many hearts can be 2 or 20....that is up to you.

The only rule this month is; that the project must have at least one heart somewhere on it.

Other than that....its your choice to interprete how your "Heart Project" will be a "Keepsake" for someone on your list.

Closing date for the 'Heart Keepsake Challenge' will be Sunday 29th August, 2010 at Midnight.

There's lots to do and fun to be had; so lets do AUGUST!!!!
